About This Opportunity

The successful applicant will undertake teaching and research and service in veterinary reproduction for all animal species. They will contribute to the teaching of reproduction to undergraduate and postgraduate students and will contribute to ongoing development of the curriculum in the field.

The successful applicant will also contribute to a veterinary clinical service in theriogenology with a focus on horses, providing veterinary clinical services to the community and for referring veterinarians. Participation in veterinary clinical service may be expected to include provision of support for the after-hours emergency and critical care service. The balance of clinical, teaching and research work will determined in consultation with the HOS and reviewed annually.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to the national and international research profile of the School, and will be expected to supervise research students, establish a research program, and obtain external grant funding.

This position is located at The University of Queensland’s picturesque Gatton Campus. Gatton Campus, UQ combines its Queensland Agricultural College heritage with modern research and teaching facilities in veterinary science and agriculture. Just over an hour’s drive west of Brisbane and five kilometres from the local township, the 1068-hectare Gatton campus offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and world-class facilities.

Our Ideal Candidate

Applicants should have a degree in Veterinary Science (or equivalent), registrable in Queensland. Ideally you will have advanced knowledge and clinical experience in Veterinary Theriogenology, along with a demonstrated ability to teach students at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional level. Successful applicants will also have evidence of clinical research experience including successful applications for research funding and have published research results in peer-reviewed journals.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time continuing position at Academic Level B or C.

For Academic Level B, the remuneration package will be in the range $99,542 – $118,206 (FTE), plus superannuation of up to 17%

For Academic Level C, the remuneration package will be in the range $121,939 – $140,603 (FTE), plus superannuation of up to 17%.
