Senior Research Technician (3D Bioprinting)

This position is located at our Herston Campus, UQ’s core campus for clinical health teaching and research. Sharing premises with royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the QIMR Berghofer Medical research Institute, the campus houses a vibrant clinical and research community that delivers innovative and contemporary research and education programs in a clinical academic environment. Conveniently located just minutes from Brisbane’s city centre, there is access to multiple public transport connections, onsite parking and cycling facilities.
Working under supervision of the Chief Investigators, the Senior Research Technician provides research, administration and coordination support to a project funded by Colgate to develop a 3D bio-printed model of oral mucosa, administered at the School of Dentistry.
The incumbent of this position will work as part of a research team in a support role. Duties will include providing high-level administrative support to the Chief Investigators, assisting with project coordination, conducting literature searches, and undertaking data collection. Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the position, you will have completed a relevant degree without relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training. You will have experience and / or knowledge of cell biology laboratory skills, including cell culture, Flow Cytometry analysis, routine molecular biology, and 3D bioprinting. You can demonstrate proficiency in carrying out literature searches and synthesizing the evidence obtained. You have experience with statistical analysis and data management. Strong organizational and excellent communication skills are imperative.
It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

What We Can Offer
This is a full-time fixed term (18-month) position at Professional HEW Level 5.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $70,729.75 – $78,852.96, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $82,753.81 – $92,257.96.
