Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Trials Researcher, within Stroke, Division of Clinical Neuroscience. The position will be based at QMC. We are registered as HSRP (Hyper-Acute Stroke Research Centre), working on clinical trials contributing towards the NIHR portfolio. The role will include a mixture of both ward and office-based responsibilities.
We are looking for a highly motivated and personable individual, who works well as a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, as well as on their initiative. The role holder will be responsible for facilitating the consenting process for hyper-acute Stroke CTIMPs, alongside consultants. Additional responsibilities include trial management, assessing eligibility for observational trials and randomised controlled trials, approaching patients and their relatives in a ward-based environment, performing baseline assessments, follow ups and data entry. The successful candidate will also be expected, with training, to perform clinical skills such as venepuncture and ECG.
Applicants should hold a degree, or equivalent, in Psychology or a relevant healthcare profession, or current registration with the NMC. Applicants should also have experience of working in clinical trials with an ability to work out of hours and at weekends on occasion.
This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week) position available for a period of 4 years.
