Details

PhD Scholarships in Food Microbiology project, funded by the EU, aims to enhance the identification and assessment of microbiological safety risks along the European infant food chain. The subproject will develop decision support systems for hazard identification and risk ranking. For that, databases will be built for potential microbiological hazards and risk estimates using epidemiological data, scientific literature and genomic data, and selection procedures will be developed for hazard identification and risk ranking. This subproject is linked to other subprojects within the same program that is developing decision support systems for chemical hazards and the subprojects will closely collaborate.

Eligibility

To be eligible for PhD Scholarships in Food Microbiology, applicants must have:

  • An excellent academic (MSc) record in (food) microbiology
  • Affinity with quantitative microbiology and experience is considered an advantage
  • Creative researcher, being independent yet at the same time being a team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Willingness to be involved in teaching activities
