Postdoctoral researcher in neural mechanisms of motor control

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Laboratory of Postural Control in the Department of Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden), lead by professor Tatiana Deliagina. We are studying organization and operation of neuronal networks underlying control of posture and balance, as well as distortions in operation of these networks caused by different types of spinal cord injury. Our research utilizes mammalian animal models.

Your profile
We are looking for candidates with experience in:
- behavioral experiments (behavior of unrestrained animals, training of animals to execute specific behaviors on experimental setups),
- electrophysiological techniques (extracellular recording of individual neurons and EMGs during motor behavior),
- surgery (dissection for acute experiments and surgery for chronic experiments),
- stereotaxic injections,
- histochemistry.
The candidate should have:
- a PhD degree in Neuroscience,
- the ability to work both independently and within a team,
- have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
