The Opportunity

An exciting new opportunity is available for a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to join the Division of Biostatistics, Data analytics, Modelling and Health Economics within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine on a 3-year fixed-term basis. In this role you will collaborate closely with researchers in transfusion practice and management of hematologic disorders. You will lead high-level independent and/or original research, ensuring adequate and efficient leadership in statistical methodology is provided to the research team.

  • The position involves engagement in multi-centre collaborative clinical trials at all phases for preventing or treating blood-related disorders. Contributions will include writing statistical analysis plans, providing input to development of study protocols, grant applications, and research papers reporting study results.
  • Areas of methodological investigation will align with the broad interests of the AusTriM Research Network and could be in areas such as complex survival analysis, composite endpoints, and elucidation of treatment mechanisms.

This position is suited to a highly motivated individual who holds a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation and standing together with subsequent research experience. Additionally, the successful candidate will ideally demonstrate a strong record of publications and/or technical contributions such as software in the relevant discipline area. Experience in clinical research is essential including the application of advanced statistical analyses to trials and/or observational cohort studies.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

If you believe you can fulfil these requirements, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
