The Bionanocomposites research group at the Division of Materials Science is seeking two enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral researchers for development of environmentally friendly biocomposite materials in an exciting collaboration project between Luleå University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology and Stora Enso. This project is financed by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
Wood and Bionanocomposites covers the development of energy efficient manufacturing processes of eco-friendly composite materials and products based on various biofibers in nano- and micrometer scale.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly motivated person who will work with development of extrusion process of novel wood based biocomposites with a special interest on sustainability, use of industrially recycled material streams and to develop biocomposites with new functional properties. The work is done in close collaboration with the project partners and especially with our industrial partner Stora Enso.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a person with PhD degree on materials science, polymer science, composite science or mechanical engineering equivalent and have a great interest in biocomposites and their processing development. Experience in polymer composites processing, especially extrusion process as well as experience on their characterisation including microstructure, fracture behaviour, mechanical properties, toughness, compatibility, interface, fiber dispersion and orientation etc. are important competences for the advertised position.

Good knowledge of English both in speech and writing is very important. You should be able to work in group, can take your own initiative and have a good social competence.

In the first instance, applicants who has completed a doctoral degree no more than three years before the end of the application period should be considered.

INFORMATION
Fulltime fixed-term employment for one year, with a possible extension up to maximum two years. Location is Luleå, Sweden.
